Alison Bernstein: Founder/President

Alison Bernstein is the founder of the The Suburban Jungle Realty, a real estate firm exclusively focused on buyers leaving the city for the suburbs. Recognizing how different neighboring towns can be from one another and how little families learn about a community during the home search, Alison launched Suburban Jungle, helping buyers navigate suburbia, and understand the ins and outs of towns before making their decision. She had personally experienced these challenges while undertaking her own suburban search, and strived to bring that unique expertise to Suburban Jungle families.

Prior to this launch, Alison worked in the industry for more than 15 years, including senior-level roles in sales, leasing, investment banking and corporate strategic work spanning three of the nation’s leading real estate organizations. She has revolutionized the real estate industry by creating this new advisory pre-search component to the home buying process.
When she’s not helping families in their suburban explorations, Alison enjoys traveling, skiing and tennis as well as spending time at home with her husband and four young children …and huge dog.

Suzanne Weinberg

Local

Suzanne Weinberg Having grown up in Connecticut and then living in New York City, Hoboken and now Montclair, I have a good perspective on the tri-state area. My husband and I moved to Montclair from Hoboken when we were ready for more space and a good Kindergarten for our oldest son. As we toured various New Jersey towns during our search, we kept coming back to Montclair as it felt comfortable and “just right." We loved the access to the city (Montclair has 7 train stations plus bus options) and we liked that you could walk to a “downtown” area from almost any neighborhood. It certainly helped that my brother and his wife had already chosen Montclair as their town! We took a leap of faith, rented a house and moved here. That was seven years ago. Since then, we have grown to really love Montclair for all of the same reasons we chose it originally and more. The people are amazing….interesting, smart, energetic and nice. The restaurants are great…delicious food and many BYOB places which is a fun change from NYC and Hoboken. The schools are good…both our children thrived at Bradford Elementary School initially and now Montclair Kimberley Academy. The houses are charming…many old houses transformed by renovations that have character and amenities. I have enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for the past 12+ years and getting involved in our community and schools. My husband, Mark, and I have two boys ages 9 and 12 (3rd and 6th grade). When I am not busy with the kids or volunteering at their school, I am either at the gym or cooking or spending time with family and friends. Feel free to contact me about Montclair as I am happy to share the nitty gritty details with you!
