Happy fall! There’s so much going on this fall in Westchester County, Long Island, southern Connecticut and northern New Jersey, from festivals and fairs to family activities and shows. See you there!  WESTCHESTER COUNTY

Larchmont: The annual Larchmont Arts Festival happens Saturday, September 28that Constitution Park. Experience, collect and learn about fine arts and crafts directly from the new and established artists exhibiting. 

Armonk: The annual Armonk Outdoor Art Show at Armonk Community Park is ranked among the premier fine art and design shows in the area. This year the event will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 10AM-3PM.  

 

White Plains: One of the most popular farmers markets in the area, the City of White Plains Downtown Farmers Market, is back and runs on Wednesdays through November 20th, from 8AM-4PM. 

New Rochelle: On Saturday, October 5th join hundreds of residents and visitors for the town’s Mini Italian Festival at Grand Market. There will be plenty of children’s activities and shows, as well as a wide range of produce, fruits and specialty foods.  Sleepy Hollow:Weekends from October 5th –November 2ndPhillipsburg Manor will play host to a 13-night interactive haunted attraction celebrating Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

 

Croton-on-Hudson: The Great Jack-o-Lantern Blaze runs from October 5th – November 11thand includes 5,000 professionally-carved pumpkins and pumpkin sculptures including life-size dinosaurs and much more.

 

Harrison: The 36th Annual “It’s Great to Live in Harrison” Parade and Festival will be Monday, October 14th from 10AM-1PM starting at Riis Park. 

LONG ISLAND

Roslyn Harbor: The Nassau County Museum of Art is presenting a Craft & Fine Arts Fair on September 28th – 29th, in partnership with the renowned American Concern for Art and Craftsmanship. The event will feature pottery, leather goods, jewelry, glass work, furniture and more. www.nassaumuseum.org  

 

Old Westbury: This ever-popular fall event—Rise of the Jack O’ Lantern—is returning to Old Westbury Gardens for 17 nights beginning October 4th. More than 5,000 professionally-carved pumpkins will light up the estate, plus unique walk-through experiences and sculptures. Advanced tickets are required.    

Port Jefferson:The 6th Annual Taste of Port Jefferson is happening on Saturday, October 5th from 12PM-4PM. The event will feature more than 35 local restaurants, desserts, wine, beer and much more. Tickets are available now for $45.

 

Plainview: One of the leading craft shows in Nassau County, Plainview’s own craft show and family shopping event is Sunday, October 6th on Old Country Road. The event features new and established artists and countless items including jewelry, hand-blown glass, home décor, clothing and more. www.nassaucountycraftshows.com

Port Washington: Foreigner’s Lou Gramm will be performing an intimate showcase at Landmark on Main Street on October 11th. This acoustic night will feature some of the band’s biggest hits plus some of Gramm’s newer works.www.landmarkonmainstreet.org

Oyster Bay: Part of the acclaimed Music at the Mansion series, on October 11th Planting Fields will welcome Matt Marsharks for an evening of diverse music drawing on jazz, blues, pop, rock and even down home boogie.www.plantingfields.org  

CONNECTICUT

Ridgefield: The 36th Annual Ridgefield Guild of Artists Juried Show will be September 28th – October 26th. The event will feature more than 1,500 artists, displays and demonstrations from a variety of unique artisans from around the Tri-State Area. 

 

Westport: The Westport Historical Society is hosting a family fun day themed “Something to Crow About” on Saturday, September 28th. Gather up old clothes and get ready to make your own scarecrow at this fun afternoon party. Tickets are $25 per family. www.westporthistory.org 

 

Bridgeport: A Wild Family Event is returning to the Beardsley Zoo! Tickets include private access on September 29th, plus carousel rides and access to delicious food trucks brought in special for the event. Sales benefit The Tiny Miracles Foundation.  

Madison:Join thousands of area residents and guests on October 5th for an exciting all-new event, the Madison New American Market on the town’s Green. Vendors will include a mix of vintage and repurposed goods, arts and crafts, recycled items and more. 

 

Norwalk:KidzFest 2013 is happening on Saturday, October 5th at Taylor Farm Park. This unique family event includes the always-popular “touch-a-truck” exhibit featuring construction vehicles usually off-limits to the public, plus hay rides, face painting, dancing, music, food and games. 

 

Groton: Be part of this favorite festival, the Groton Fall Festival! The event is Saturday, October 12that Poquonnock Plains Park and will feature 110+ area businesses, artists, chefs, drinks, entertainment and family-friendly activities.Greenwich: The celebrated Outdoor Arts Festival of the Bruce Museum is returning on October 12th-13th. The event will feature nearly 100 exhibitors, original high-end art, plus live music and kids entertainment and countless activities. NEW JERSEY

Tenafly: Every Sunday this fall, the Tenafly Nature Center will host hands-on apple cider making—and tastings!—for families. Participants will press their own juice and can drink it on the spot or bring it home for later. 

Chestnut Ridge: This annual fall tradition, the Waldorf Fall Fair, is back again on October 12th and, this year, features new children’s activities, cider pressing, pumpkin carving, live music, food and more. The event is free and activities are just $1. www.gmws.org/fallfair 

 

Englewood: The Flat Rock Brook Nature Center is hosting a nighttime hike for ages 5 and up on October 15th. Bring a flashlight and test your after-dark senses while you search for nocturnal wildlife. Then warm up with some yummy hot chocolate! www.flatrockbrook.org

 

Franklin Lakes:Franklin Lakes’ Annual Ciderfest is October 20thfrom 10AM-3PM. The event celebrates the wonders of autumn and features nature hikes, arts and crafts, apple games and plenty of cider!

Lyndhurst: The Meadowlands staff will lead families on a spooky walk and hayride on October 24th. This event includes plenty of crafts, foods, drinks, music and great activities. Glen Rock: Porch Light Productions is re-mounting Stage Fright, a Halloween Musical, from October 25th-27th. This family-friendly comedy was nominated for Best Original Musical in 2010 by the NJ Association of Community Theatres.

Verona: Verona’s annual Turkey Trot is happening on Saturday, November 30th at 9:30AM. The 5K run/walk from Verona Park raises money for Progeria research.
