This fall, new home sales hit their highest level in nearly a decade—close to 667,000 newly-built homes were sold, up 18.9% for the month. These towns and neighborhoods have a lower “public” profile and, often, that means they have homes with lower price tags to match. What’s more, if that particular town isn’t on the tip of every buyers’ tongue, there’s likely to be less competition, giving new buyers a better shot at locking things down. “Don’t be afraid to think outside the box with your home search strategy,” Alison adds.
